“I WON’T BE RETURNING TO YOU THE SAME, THAT GIRL WITH NO VOICE IS GONE"

The Body Keeps the Score by Chris Meshel explores how trauma lingers in the body, shaping identity and connection. Through layered textures, abstraction, and poetic inscriptions, these works reveal the weight of memory, attachment wounds, and resilience. Figures emerge from vibrant textiles, embodying both inheritance and transformation. Science and symbolism intertwine, making visible the body’s cellular memory of trauma. Accompanying the visual works is a live performance tracing the artist’s healing journey through poetry and spoken word. This exhibition is a meditation on survival, pain, and the possibility of healing.
