Chris White
Chris White is an artist, poet, writer, and licensed immigration attorney whose practice bridges storytelling, identity, and healing. Born in Canton, Mississippi, and now based in Barcelona, Meshel draws from the rhythms of blues, gospel, and jazz that shaped her roots, weaving them into a visual and poetic language of resilience.
Her mixed-media works combine vibrant textiles, layered textures, and inscribed words to explore themes of migration, generational trauma, and the body’s memory. At once intimate and universal, her practice channels lived experience into bold visual narratives that confront silence, reclaim voice, and envision transformation.
Recent exhibitions include The Body Keeps the Score (Soho House Barcelona, 2025), where painting, poetry, and performance intersected to illuminate the deep ties between trauma, survival, and renewal. Following this debut, her second exhibition will be presented by Studio 46 Barcelona, furthering Meshel’s exploration of art as a vessel for resilience, self-discovery, and collective healing.
