    GRABART

    GRABART is located in Barcelona within one of Spain’s oldest and most significant engraving workshops, originally founded by Joan Barbarà in 1974. This historic Catalan workshop has played an essential role in the local and international art scene, attracting the most important artists of the past and present centuries to create their works. Joan Barbarà, a globally respected engraver and master printmaker, established a legacy that continues through his family, who maintain the workshop today and collaborate with artists from around the world.

    The Barbarà family has preserved and shared this legacy for decades, offering artists the opportunity to learn unique printmaking and painting techniques. GRABART is a project born from the spirit of openness and dedication to sharing knowledge, encouraging artists to explore and refine their skills.

    At Studio 46, art serves as a bridge connecting cultures. Our workshop is a home for artists and creatives, fostering intercultural exchange and collaboration. We are dedicated to creating an environment where diversity and innovation thrive, with a mission to revive and celebrate the art of engraving.

  • CONDITIONS

    Duration:

    1 day to 3 months

    Hours:

    Monday to Thursday 10:00 - 14:00, 16:00 - 20:00

    Friday 10:00 - 14:00

    Prices (VAT included): 

      •  € 65 per day (1 shitf, 4 hours)
      •  € 455 per week (9 shifts)
      •  € 1625 per month (36 shifts)

    You can apply to GRABART art residency by sending an email to taller46barcelona@gmail.com including the following information:

    1. Name, Surname and Place of Residence
    2. Resume describing your academic, artistic, professional and other relevant experience.
    3. One-page cover letter explaining why you are interested in this program and what you hope to achieve by attending it.
    4. Artists must submit 5 samples of work, in case the artist have a website please also provide the link.
    5. Period of residence.
    Only applications that are complete and include all requested information, clearly and professionally presented, will be considered.
