Our Legacy
In 1974, Joan Barbarà (Barcelona, 1927-2013), a distinguished Catalan painter, printmaker, and lithographer, established the workshop which soon became legendary, attracting and collaborating with art icons like Picasso, Miró, and Dalí. Today, the workshop is led by master Virgili Barbarà, Joan’s son, who continues the legacy. Additionally, Om Barbarà, Joan’s grandson, represents the third generation of artists, helping to lead the Studio and prepare it for the future together with Martin Sky, the Studio Manager, thereby contributing to the enduring heritage of Studio 46.
