Work inspired by la vida mediterráneo and the serene cove of Port Lligat that lies adjacent to Cadaqués on the costa Brava and the famous Surrealist painter that lived there....
Work inspired by la vida mediterráneo and the serene cove of Port Lligat that lies adjacent to Cadaqués on the costa Brava and the famous Surrealist painter that lived there.
It is so named as there are two entries into the bay created by two small islands forming a geographical knot (ligature).
The artist explains that the figure is partly submerged, placed centrally in the cove (thus obscuring the islands). The androgynous figure gazes upon the whitewashed houses of the fishermen. A labyrinth of three cottages that were organically joined by Salvador Dalí and Gala during the many years that they lived there, together.
