Kine Iset, a Norwegian-born artist based in Barcelona, is known for her innovative and unconventional approach to art and design. Drawing on influences from philosophy, symbolism, surrealism, and postmodernism, she blends these elements with contemporary aesthetics to create captivating and unique works. In Spring 2024, she was invited to join the prestigious Joan Barbarà workshop in Barcelona, an iconic residency specializing in engraving techniques where legends like Picasso, Dalí, and Miró once created. This historic space, now led by Om and Virgili Barbarà, continues to nurture artistic excellence.
Iset's artistic journey began in a creative household, deeply influenced by her mother and grandmother, both of whom were artists. From a young age, she explored various mediums, developing a dreamlike and confident artistic style. Her passion for art and design led her to formal studies in Norway and an art exchange in Russia at 17. Since 2010, she has worked professionally as a multidisciplinary artist, delving into themes of philosophy, mysticism, and surprise while creating across mediums such as painting, poetry, and design.
Her diverse portfolio includes designing residences, commercial spaces, furniture, and objects, as well as managing high-end real estate and interior architecture projects. Iset's work has been featured in Scandinavian magazines and other media, showcasing her expertise in set design and art direction.
